Cross
country for orphans and youth and the target groups which will be
held later in the year at Uhuru gardens Nairobi. The event venue
signifies the place where the independence of Kenya was handed over
to Kenyans from the colonial government .
The race will be free for the target groups and a registration fee
will be payable on corporate and individual participation basis (
the net proceeds will be ploughed back to promoting the winners in
terms of kits, training as well as supporting them academically).
The race events will be cross-country , track events and road races.
Events background
A course for the races will be availed by notification. The
participants will be duly advised on where to collect the course
map.
The list of events that will be held are organized as follows;

1 km race for kids
aged below 8 years old |

2 km race for kids
between 8 years and 10 years |
|
4 km race for kids
between 10 and 14 years of age. |
|
6 km for youth below
18 years old |
|
8 km for youth below
18 years |
|
A family fun race
will also be held i.e. a 2km race. |
After the races
all the winners will be awarded. |
